Welcome to the Computational Neuroscience Laboratory of Sahand University of Technology
The goal of computational neuroscience laboratory (CNLab) is the study of brain function in terms of the information processing properties of the structures that make up the nervous system especially in the neurological and cognitive problems.
Computational neuroscience is an interdisciplinary science that links the diverse fields of neuroscience, cognitive science, and psychology with electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, and physics. It emphasizes descriptions of functional and biologically realistic neurons (and neural systems) and their physiology and dynamics. These models capture the essential features of the biological system at multiple spatial-
The researchers in the group are interested in the development of novel computational approaches for analysis, storage, and modeling of biological data. The group combines faculty members with background in diverse areas of computer science, including algorithms, databases, and machine learning who apply their methodologies to disparate neuroscience and cognitive science cases.
